To developmental psychologists, adaptation is a key concept that describes how we grow, change, and learn. To adapt means: 1. to use what we have already learned to meet the demands of new situations and 2. to learn new things and modify our behaviors and activities to meet new demands. Therefore, adaptation allows us to gradually build up a repertoire of behaviors and capabilities. This is also the treatment philosophy of the ADDapt program--learning healthier, more adaptive behaviors through psycho-education.

Call (586) 254-5454 to find out about our Nationally Acclaimed Social Skills Training Program or you may also click on the Psycho-ed Groups Page for further information. Children learn essential social skills that lead to more friendships, confidence and self-esteem.

"The social skills group was not only very helpful for our son, but for our family as a whole."

The ADDapt program is commited to providing individuals and families with a comprehensive understanding of how and why a loved one is struggling with apparent ADHD and ADHD-related problems and the impact this is having on interpersonal and family relationships, and academic, vocational, and social functioning.

We offer a wide range of practical, effective and affordable services that can replace or greatly increase the effectiveness of more traditional treatments such as medication management and psychotherapy. We provide individuals and families with the utmost compassion, respect and professional treatment possible.
